Safe Underfoot. Straight to Your Door. Level for Decades.

A walkway does its job quietly — until it heaves, cracks or turns into a tripping hazard. Southwest Concrete Innovations pours concrete walkways and sidewalks throughout Strathroy, Watford, Sarnia and area that stay level through freeze and thaw because of what is underneath them: proper grading, a compacted base and steel reinforcement, on every job.

Is a Concrete Walkway Right for You?

A poured concrete walkway is the right fit if you want:

  • A clean, continuous surface with no joints for weeds to grow through.
  • A path that drains properly instead of pooling water or icing up at the low spot.
  • A style that matches your home — brushed, stamped to look like flagstone or brick, or exposed aggregate.
  • To replace a cracked, heaved or patched path that is beyond repair.

Pairing a new walkway with front steps? See our concrete steps — pouring them together keeps everything level and matching.

Small Pours, Same Standards

A walkway might be the smallest pour on our schedule, but it gets the same process as a 3,000 sq ft patio: grades established first so water moves where it should, excavation of the old surface, compacted base, steel reinforcement, and a finish chosen from the full range — brushed, stamped or exposed aggregate.

We come back the next day to cut control joints and power wash, and you are walking on it right after that.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most walkways are formed, poured and finished within a day or two, with next-day cleanup — an average project including a sidewalk is done in three days or less.

The day after we clean up. Concrete cures gradually, so we will cordon off the path until it is ready.

Yes — we can carry the same finish, colour and pattern across walkways, steps, patios and driveways so everything reads as one design.

Most cracking comes from poor base prep or missing reinforcement. We compact a proper base, pour with wire mesh and saw-cut control joints the next day so any movement happens where it is meant to.

Yes — we excavate and haul away the old concrete, then build the new walkway on a properly prepared base.
