Built on a Proper Base. Reinforced With Steel. Finished Your Way.

A concrete driveway is the first thing people see when they pull up to your home — and the last surface you should have to think about for decades. Southwest Concrete Innovations builds concrete driveways across Strathroy, Sarnia, Watford and the surrounding communities, from classic brushed finishes to stamped and exposed aggregate designs.

Whether it is a city drive or a long rural approach, the owners handle your project personally from quote to cleanup.

Is a Concrete Driveway Right for You?

A concrete driveway is the right choice if you want:

  • A surface that will not rut, sag or grow weeds like gravel and asphalt can.
  • A custom look — brushed, stamped to resemble stone, coloured or exposed aggregate.
  • A driveway that handles Ontario freeze-thaw cycles, built on a compacted base with steel reinforcement.
  • Lasting value — a properly installed slab should easily last 20-plus years.
  • One crew, start to finish — we excavate, form, pour and finish everything ourselves.

What Is Under Your Driveway Matters Most

Anyone can make fresh concrete look good for a summer. The difference shows up in year five. Before we pour, we establish grades so water drains away from your home, excavate old surfaces, and compact a proper base. Every driveway is poured with 10 gauge wire mesh, and 10mm rebar is tied into the foundation wherever we pour against one.

Most driveways are poured and finished within three days. We return the next day to saw-cut control joints, strip forms and power wash the job clean — then the new surface gets its full week to cure before vehicles roll on it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Every driveway is different, so we do not publish a set price — size, access, finish and site prep all move the number. Call Greg or Ralph for a free, no-obligation quote; the owners price every job personally.

We recommend one week before parking vehicles on new concrete. Foot traffic is fine the day after cleanup. We mark the driveway with pylons or caution tape so it is not driven on early by mistake.

Brushed (broom) finish is the classic low-maintenance choice; stamped concrete adds stone or slate patterns and colour; exposed aggregate gives a durable, textured pebble surface. We will show you examples and walk you through the trade-offs.

Concrete costs more up front but will not rut or sag, does not let weeds through, needs almost no maintenance and lasts 20-plus years when properly installed — which is why most of our customers consider it the better long-term value.

Yes — long rural drives are some of our favourite projects. Good excavation and concrete truck access make them very efficient pours.
