Your Backyard's Best Room, Designed Around How You Live

A well-built concrete patio turns a backyard into the place everyone ends up on a summer night. Southwest Concrete Innovations designs and pours concrete patios across Strathroy, Sarnia and surrounding communities — from simple brushed pads to a 3,000 sq ft stamped entertaining space in Thamesford we are still proud of.

Greg and Ralph plan every patio with you, then pour and finish it themselves.

Is a Concrete Patio Right for You?

Concrete is the right patio material if you want:

  • A surface that stays level — no shifting, sinking pavers or weeds between joints.
  • Design freedom: stamped stone and slate patterns, colour, exposed aggregate or a clean brushed finish.
  • Space built around your plans — hot tubs, fire pits, pergolas, pool decks and outdoor kitchens all start with the right slab.
  • Low maintenance: an occasional wash, and a re-seal every couple of years for stamped finishes.

Patios fail from the bottom up, so that is where we start: grades set so water runs away from your foundation, a compacted base, and steel reinforcement in every pour. Then comes the fun part — choosing the finish. Stamped patterns with secondary colour give the look of natural stone; exposed aggregate adds texture around pools; brushed concrete keeps things clean and budget-friendly.

Most patios are finished within a week from excavation to the final power wash, and you can walk on the new surface the day after we clean up.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on size, finish and access — a stamped patio with borders prices differently than a brushed pad. We do not publish set prices; call for a free quote and Greg or Ralph will price it personally.

Stamped concrete itself is not slippery, but sealer can be — so we add a non-slip additive to the sealer we use. Reasonable caution on any wet or icy surface still applies.

You can walk on it the day after we clean up, and set furniture on it about a week after the pour. Concrete keeps gaining strength for weeks after it is placed.

An occasional wash, plus a re-seal every couple of years depending on sun and traffic. We are happy to do the re-sealing for you, or point you to the right sealer if you are a do-it-yourselfer.

Yes — some of our best projects pair stamped concrete with landscaping, decks and pergolas. Bring your ideas or your landscaper’s drawings and we will plan the slab around them.
